A new Kosher Asian fusion restaurant has opened in the heart of the Jewish cultural food area, at Bathurst Street and Lawrence Avenue West, in Toronto, Ontario.
The menu is only outdone by the high quality of service. Customer service is supercharged at Wok & Bowl Authentic Asian Fusion. Food choices include:
There are delectable chicken choice options:
Novel noodle dishes:
Fried Rice Meal Options:
Pho Savory Soup Broths with Noodles
Now that I have delineated the menu items, let us consider some possible initial concerns, which we will see are immediately resolved. If you do not already know something about Kosher food and Kosher food requirements, prepared meat and milk items must be served at separate venues, unless the food is being served at supermarket, in which case the prepared food items must still be served at separate counters and prepared using totally separate utensils, pots and permitted ingredients.
In Kosher eating: milk and meat cannot be consumed together, at the same time. Here at, Wok & Bowl there are superb scrumptious meat dishes and there are two listed milkshakes on the same menu. But before you raise and eyebrow, you should consider that the owners thought this through. The milk in the milkshakes is coconut milk, which is not a dairy product.
I ordered the Beef Shanghai Noodles and Pho with Rib Eye Steak and Sliced Beef Brisket. The beef in the Beef Shanghai Noodle dish was soft and tender. The vegetables mixed into the dish were slice thin and soft. The Pho with Rib Eye Steak and Sliced Beef Brisket had beef nearly as soft as cotton. It melts in your mouth’, like butter. The noodles were soft yet strong enough to scoop, with each spoonful. The broth in the Pho was savoury and hearty.
But let me not forget the splendid sauces: Hoisin sauce, hot sauce. The Hoisin sauce was wonderful. Sweet, but not too sweet, thick, rich and smooth.
Once again, the service was polite, fast and kind. When I complimented Maytar on the Pho tasting great and authentic, she replied, saying: “It is Pho Real.” Imagine that ‘Pho Real Asian Fusion food’, in the heart of the Jewish area, at Bathurst Street and Lawrence.
